G-SHOCK’s new GBX100 series of watches was originally designed for surfers. This water-ready watch is able to display tide charts, moon phases, activity metrics like speed, pace, lap, and pitch, and much more. It’s not just for surfers though, as any land lover will appreciate the extra digital features, brushed metal bezel, and brand new high-resolution MIP LCD display. 

Measuring in at 46mm wide by 50.9mm long, the GBX100 is a bold watch, but still well within the bounds of being comfortable. The 14.7mm thickness is divided between the steel case back, resin mid-case, and brushed stainless steel bezel. At 66 grams, it’s still light enough for a full day of comfortable wear. The soft urethane band is slotted throughout to allow water and sweat to quickly drain away from your wrist. 

The star of the show is the 3482 Bluetooth-enabled module inside with its new Memory in Pixel LCD display. Similar to what you’d find on an e-reader, the display uses small pixels for a crisp readout while going easy on the battery. The GBX100 has all of your standard digital watch features like a timer, stopwatch, world time, and alarms but a few unique tricks up its sleeve. The Bluetooth connection pairs with your phone in order to program location for tide charts, sun rise and set times, moon phase data, receive phone notifications and even track your activity with the built-in pedometer.
