Norqain is a young brand with a ton of experience in the watch industry. They’ve used their years of consulting and manufacturing expertise to bring their own brand into the world. What they’ve created is a lineup of modern, premium watches with some unique callbacks to vintage design. Part of the Freedom line, this Bronze-cased GMT has added design flairs and functionality that allow you to track multiple time zones on the same watch. 

Housed inside a 40mm bronze case, the Freedom 60 will pick up a patina over time. Each watch will darken up as it’s exposed to the elements, creating a truly unique piece that’s all your own. The 40mm case width will wear well on most wrist sizes. Measuring in at 14.5mm thick, the vertical height of the watch is broken up by the box sapphire crystal up top, handsome polished mid-case, and display case back showing off the movement inside. Norqain’s take on the GMT is a bezel-less design, incorporating the 24-hour scale into the dial itself. A black and white scale is split in half to denote day and night, while a bright red GMT hand points to the time on the small internal scale. A rich brown base dial with printed minute markers with high polished, and lumed applied indices adds style while maintaining legibility. Both the handset and indices are rendered in a gold tone metal to match the warm colors throughout the watch. On the right side of the case, you’ll find a generously sized, textured crown for adjusting the time that’s signed with Norqain’s logo. The entire case is water resistant to 100m, making the Freedom 60 GMT a great travel-ready watch. 

Inside the case, you’ll find Norqain’s Caliber NN20/2, manufactured by Kenissi. It’s a mechanical automatic movement with GMT functionality that has a jumping hour feature to quickly set the local time and manipulate the date forward and backward. The movement is highly accurate, as it holds a chronometer certification. Beating away at 28,800 beats per hour, the movement sends the seconds hand around the dial with a clean sweep. When fully wound, the watch will run for 70 hours between windings — an impressive power reserve for an automatic GMT. Throughout the movement, 28 jewels keep the mechanics running smoothly. You can also hand wind the watch to get it running and a hacking seconds feature allows for precision time setting.

To add a personal touch to the watch, you can engrave the Norqain plate on the side of the case with a special date or phrase. While getting something engraved on the case back is a nice sentiment, it spends most of its time completely out of view. By having that special date, name, phrase, or location right on the side of the watch, you can see it while you’re wearing it, but it’s not on full display for everyone to see.
